i thought i would explain the story behind "duckie mcquacksalot, esq," since it is a slightly strange name for a blog. my brother, phil, for as long as i can remember, has always had some slightly inappropriate and/or funny nickname for me. over the past few years, anything with the word "duck" in it has had the most staying power (for some reason, he thinks i resemble baby huey and calls me a duck as a result).
so when i passed the pennsylvania bar after law school, phil called me "duckie mcquacksalot, esq." because now i was a *lawyer*. i have never seen my dad laugh so hard in my life. and i can still drop the name in a conversation and he always laughs.
yes it is a bit dorky and silly, but quintessentially my brother. plus, i can't take this blog business too seriously, now can i?
